OEM/ODM Manufacturer
A technology company developing its own digital health platform required a wearable device that could be integrated into its existing software ecosystem. Unlike a traditional private-label project, the client's priority was not packaging or product branding. The key requirement was access to wearable data so that information collected by the smart ring could be transferred into the client's own mobile application and health-management platform.
Many wearable products are designed primarily to work with the manufacturer's standard consumer APP. For this project, the client needed greater technical flexibility. Their development team needed to understand how the device communicates through Bluetooth and how supported health and activity data could be accessed through the available SDK and BLE protocol. The project therefore required close coordination between hardware, firmware and software teams. Project Requirements The client required: •Smart ring hardware •Bluetooth Low Energy communication •SDK support •BLE protocol documentation •iOS and Android integration support •Access to supported health and activity data •APP integration guidance •Developer documentation •Technical support during integration and testing Depending on the selected hardware platform, supported data could include information such as: •Heart rate •SpO₂ •HRV •Sleep •Steps •Activity data •Battery status
Staranb first evaluated the client’s software architecture and data requirements to determine a suitable smart ring platform.
The engineering team then provided the available SDK and Bluetooth communication documentation required for the client’s developers to begin integration.
The integration workflow covered:
Supporting communication between the smart ring and the client’s mobile application through Bluetooth Low Energy.
Helping the development team understand the available interfaces for supported health, activity and device data.
Providing SDK resources and integration guidance for supported iOS and Android development environments.
Working with the client’s developers during connection, data-reading and functional testing.
Enabling the client to use wearable data within its own application and health-data platform rather than relying only on a standard consumer APP.
